605307 2007-10-25 14:38:00 So I woke up Sunday morning and my laptop wouldn't load, it kept freezing at login or destop and the only way to turn it off was the battary. I have reformated my computer since then but I am still having some issues with frezzing. But my computer seems not to freeze when either the battarie is dead or not in. If the battarie is in and full charge my computer freezes at the desktop. It was suggested to me that I could have a ram problem but if I start the comp up without the battarie I have no freezing or slow down issues.
Anyone got any idea whats going on???

605308 2007-10-25 18:42:00 What is the model/specs of the laptop? Have you fully charged and fully flattened the battery since this started happening?

Have you reinstalled all the drivers for the laptop after the reinstall, or did you use a recovery CD?

605309 2007-10-25 23:05:00 it's an acer aspire 3000, so about 2.5 years old. Yes the batterie has been full dead, and I think it's been harged since. right now the batterie is not in my comuter because it tends to freeze more. junelilac (12963)
605310 2007-10-25 23:28:00 Spell checkers are there for a reason.

I'd be leaning toward thinking the battery's knackered.

Know anyone with the same or similar lappy that you could try your battery in, or try someone else's battery in your lappy?

You say the lappy tends to freeze more with the battery in, does it still freeze when the battery isn't in?

Interesting. A spell check comes up with "lappy" as normal to you.

Please explain. What dictionary are you using? Or have you added lappy to your spell checker?
