605119 2007-10-25 05:32:00 personally i wouldn't use word to resize/resample an image,

but anyway

on the compression options page are you setting it to web/screen so it changes the dpi to 96?

605120 2007-10-25 05:49:00 If your going to email an A4 page with images on it, it would be better to save it as a PDF which compresses the whole file to an emailable size as while leaving it readable. OpenOffice is very good for that. winmacguy (3367)
605121 2007-10-25 06:21:00 Make the image the size/dpi you want it to be using IrfanView then insert/import using the Tools menu in Word, into the Word doc, don't copy and paste it. zqwerty (97)
605122 2007-10-25 08:48:00 Hi
Have tried taking images down to dpi 96 and making PDF file but both have too much image distortion. IrfanView?
cheers Lindy

605123 2007-10-25 08:58:00 There shouldn't be any image distortion by reducing the file size although you might experience loss of image quality. I take it the final document will only be viewd on the web? winmacguy (3367)
605124 2007-10-25 09:17:00 Post the link to a typical image:

http://www.imagef1.net.nz/

Give me the desired ht/wdth in mm and the dpi you require.

I will adjust in IrfanView and post a link back here to see if it is what you want.

If all is ok I will give you instructions on how to achieve the same result with the rest of your images.
