606012 2007-10-28 08:52:00 Has anyone else noticed this really annoying "Love Calculator" ad that pops up on websites? It take over the whole screen and you have to kick on "remove ad" every time you load a new page?

Or is this a adware problem that I need to look into?

606016 2007-10-28 09:54:00 Ah... well, in this world every man is vying for the other's throat as we all try to eat and survive and live another day, hence the bombardment of advertisements....

Or perhaps, it is just because of some particular websites?

Cheers :)

606017 2007-10-29 00:22:00 Using Firefox with Adblock will stop those hassles for you. wratterus (105)
606018 2007-10-29 13:54:00 Opera can also be told to block certain ads.

Right click on a blank space until one of the options down the bottom is "block content..." select that. You can now click on the ads you want to block (and any images you want, such as avatars, banners and even the forum buttons like post reply). When you're done just click the "ok" button in the banner under the address bar, other options are "cancel" and "details..."

It blocks the ads by address so it should block the same ad from multiple sites

606019 2007-10-29 23:49:00 Does it appear inside your browser, or as a separate window?

If it appears separately, that might imply that you've picked up some spyware. Try the usual progams to get rid of it: Spybot Search and Destroy/Adaware/Windows Defender. If its popping up in reputable sites, that might imply that it's on your computer, rather than the site...
