| 605424 | 2007-10-25 20:16:00 | I'm hoping someone on to it can help me! :waughh: i so confused and frustrated!!:blush: :help: Ok 1) Only have SKY dish on new house. there is aerial cord coming out of wall.. can I use this to just get normal tv channels - ie 1,2,3 etc. Or do I have to purchase a freeview decoder (which I'm not too keen on doing cos I'm only here for another six months or so) ?? Just wondering...sorry if it's a silly as question! When I moved in here couple weeks ago I used bunny ears which were working ok-ish up until yesterday when telecom technician came..... (for the phone jack issues - ie 1/5 were working and the only one that worked was nowhere near a powerpoint so i had extn cables running everywhere) after he left i switched on tv to watch news and no reception - and one of the phone jacks he fixed was right next to tv etc - HAS HE DONE SOMETHING INADVERTENTLY thats cut what reception I had??? He's coming back today so shall I ask him to re-do whatever he did (as the ph jack next to the tv isn't important) Apart from above - is there anyway I can improve reception withouth spending hundereds of dollars??!! (my fav programme on tonight and ill be so upset to miss it!!) 2) Broadband. So now that he's got more than one ph jack working i used the other one to put my braodband cord in, however if i try to use the ph at same time i cant hear people cos it makes heaps of noise. hope that makes sense. phone works fine when i unplug modem cord ... yup im using line filter but mght not be in correct way?!! any suggestions, tips, advice or help WOULD BE GREATLY GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE! |

| 605425 | 2007-10-25 20:38:00 | Not sure how fiddling with a phone jack would affect rabbit ears, I assumed you've made sure they're still plugged in and the cable isn't damaged? You cant get tv from a Sky dish without Freeview sorry :( |

| 605427 | 2007-10-25 20:45:00 | hey yup checked it all still plugged in, nothings changed apart from him coming in to fiddle with them (omgosh!Lol) my daughter was watching spongebob before he came and it was normal and after he came it was screwed. it's weird aye!!!!! the only thing i can think of is to get him to redo what he did and see if that fixes it.... what's the cheapest you can grab a freeview box for??? |

| 605429 | 2007-10-25 21:20:00 | You could ring Sky and get a decoder only subscription from them for $18.29 a month. That will give you TV1, TV2, TV3, C4, Maori & Prime. If they won't do it tell them you will get Freeview instead and then they will give it to you :D |
