1419926 2016-05-02 11:33:00 IE11 on Windows10 is crashing. I've been getting these errors for some time and have tried many things, resets and many of the tips suggested.

I'd like to fix this rather than use another browser.
Is there a known solution?
Thanks.

1419927 2016-05-02 20:48:00 The fixes you have tried is a little vague, no one knows whats been tried and what hasn't. Have you tried the fixes as described on windows.microsoft.com under Internet Explorer crashes, freezes, or hangs. wainuitech (129)
1419928 2016-05-02 21:51:00 I know you don't want to change browser, but maybe you should reconsider. When I got sick of IE crashing a couple of years ago I switched to Chrome and have never regretted it. A lot of users like Firefox as well.

IE is really an orphan as MS wants us to use Edge as our browser of choice in win 10.

While you may preserve your right to choose a less than reliable orphaned browser, your decision does use up your time, and the time of others, e.g wainui.

Just some thoughts that you may choose to get offended by or ignore!!

1419929 2016-05-02 22:02:00 :+1: Internet Explorer is as good as dead (thankfully). Better off switching browsers - even to Edge. pcuser42 (130)

What he said.
Edge actually works rather well for most things and Chrome is rock solid for me in Win 10.

1419932 2016-05-03 10:40:00 Wainui, thanks. Yes, ok the description was a bit vague however I couldn't possibly remember all the remedies I've tried over the last 6+ months.
I've Google searched and searched, read forum talk, tested and tried and rebooted..
In brief but by no means exhaustive:
SFC /scannow
Turn off IE11 then on again.
Reset IE11
Software rendering/ GPU rendering options
Reset this PC
DSIM restore health from CMD
Pop up blocker setting
Compatibility view
Windows update
Temp internet files
Performance troubleshooter
Flash, Java etc updates

Some of the problem could be to do with the they way i'm using the browser. I work it hard. Typically I open 5 -6 browser windows at once and I close each once I've finished using the page. This means no waiting, each page is already there once the previous page is closed.

In the last month I've had to resort to using Chrome for YouTube video viewing. IE11 stalls too often with the wheel of death spinning. Otherwise the video can be pixelated. The very same video clip will play on Chrome. The puzzle is why has it just started misbehaving?

Another part of the puzzle might be to do with the old motherboard I have. I think it's 7 years old or so. IIRC Asus weren't going to make drivers to run Windows 10 on the older boards so some sort of generic driver is used. Display driver is 8.970.100.9001, 13-Jan-15, ATI Radeon HD3200

OK, so if there's a fix for the browser to be found, I'd like it. Else I might have to migrate to whatever I can get to work.
Thanks.

Okay -- To many people are all to quick to simply say use another browser, that's an excuse for not actually fixing something, its a cop out / side step.

One thing that's not listed in the list of things tried is this.

Right click the start - click RUN type in iexplore -extoff press enter or Click OK. Try using the browser see if the problem still persists.

If it doesn't then there's some .dll that's conflicting with IE, which could be the cause.

It looks like msvcrt.dll is possibly a cause as well, which is Microsoft Visual C++ Looking at the logs, yours is way out of date (if I'm reading it right) mines 14, yours is 7.

This is from a Workshop PC I use for mucking about on, testing software etc.

One way to get the latest, is to download and install any component from Windows Essentials 2012 windows.microsoft.com Select choose what to install ( or similar wording) It should pick up the latest and install. If it doesn't or even if it does, as theres an update to it, then once installed, manually run Windows updates, then it will.

Failing that -- What antivirus are you using ?

If it was a customers pc, I'd go for another browser unless it was a quick fix. Ie11 is a lame duck, plus troubleshooting can take a few hours. And sometimes the only fix is an os reinstall.

And sometimes the only fix is an os reinstall. Many customers want their computers running correctly, and many do like IE. I still stand by my comments, using another browser is simply a quick fix. Usually when one program has troubles there are others as well.

Thats why there's so many faulty W10's, Some techs / places do a quick fix take the money then either are not interested or try to charge for another service call to do another quick fix and charge again.

One person I now know, she told me had the same place back three times within two weeks to fix W10, and they still didn't get it right.(flippin cowboys)

When she called me (after a friend recommended) I was up front and told her it needs a complete reinstall, after saving all her data, as its the only real way to fix it, gave her a price -- She agreed and its been running fine ever since -- Anyone who has reasonable amount of knowledge knows rather quickly is a reinstall is the quickest option. Do the job right the first time ;)

I had a W10 last week, when walking in took one look at what it was or in this case wasn't doing, and instantly knew a repair wouldn't work (seen it plenty of times).
