1416096 2016-02-16 03:35:00 How are you guys? I have been to a meeting and I asked a new business acquaintance to send me important files thru a dropbox but I just found out that we need to keep our files secure especially if it is an exclusive property of the company. What's your verdict about this? How can we protect our files when when receiving or transferring using a dropbox? Any additional or reliable protection that we can apply. reamslovenly (17283)

ONLY the people concerned can be given the password you created, the best way is not to send a password by mail, but actually talk to the person and give them the password.

Couple of pictures to show what I mean;

Encrypt the files by right clicking, and enter a password of your choice:

69656966

Upload the encrypted file to Dropbox:
6967

The person downloads the file, and on opening it creates a copy AFTER the password is entered:
6968

The beauty of this is they have the same program ( which is free) & have to know the password, without either its locked, good luck on opening it if you don't have the program or know the password ;)
