1415405 2016-02-03 23:32:00 Do you do something for Valentine's Day or do you, like me, think that it is yet another load of American rubbish? Another reason for retailers to sell their wares.

Why would you only want to do something special for your loved one once a year? Surely you would want every day to be special? I certainly do. I'm forever grateful for my good fortune in having such a loving wife and I tell her that I love her every day.

Treat your spouse in a special way every day.

1415407 2016-02-04 01:50:00 Like you Roscoe, I tell my fiance I love her everyday regardless. Neither of us do anything for the big V day because her birthday is this weekend (6th) and mine is coming up (PF1 will tell you haha).

Gobe1 that last part just sounds so wrong! haha.

1415408 2016-02-04 02:22:00 Well I seem to be terminally single, but when I had a lady I always did something. Doesn't have to be extravagant. dugimodo (138)
1415409 2016-02-04 03:49:00 I totally agree that it doesn't need to be extravagant and I would rather it wasn't. I dislike the commercialism that uses any celebration to sell but it's also my choice not to buy into it. (Excuse the pun.)
Incidentally, a couple of guys I know receive something such as a rose left on their desk by their respective spouse on Valentines Day.
I often receive flowers unexpectedly from my husband throughout the year.

Us? Nah, commercial nonsense.

He picked me some freesias once, from Waikumete Cemetery -( no not round graves, they grew all over there). Not on Valentines Day either....

Actually it's not American rubbish as you call it. It goes back to Roman times..
