| 1420000 | 2016-05-09 03:16:00 | That's interesting Chill, but seems to me to be a contradiction of the contents of dugi's post #5. What am I missing here? The part of the web page I quoted is real world averages. The link to the page was because there is a lot more info on there for those that are interested. On the same page you can find this; Theoretical wireless speeds (combined upstream and downstream) are as follows: 802.11b - 11 Mbps (2.4GHz) 802.11a - 54 Mbps (5 GHz) 802.11g - 54 Mbps (2.4GHz) 802.11n - 600 Mbps (2.4GHz and 5 GHz) - 150Mbps typical for network adapters, 300Mbps, 450Mbps, and 600Mbps speeds when bonding channels with some routers 802.11ac - 1300+Mbps (5 GHz) - newer standard that uses wider channels, QAM and spatial streams for higher throughput It's just that in the real world few people can actually achieve anything like those speeds. One of my USB adapters is 150Mbps max and the other is 300Mbps - and that's duplex so you half to basically halve it straight away. I actually haven't tested with either of those at home, only with my android phone, an HP AIO, and an inTel NUC. All of them have managed 80Gbps at one point or another off either of my two routers but even sitting right next to the router I can't achieve 100Mbps. I have not changed any settings or looked into bonding channels though. I'm happy with those speeds though so I haven't tried to get any more out of it. |

Have to remember that if you use youtube it will default now to 720 HD with your new speed where in the past it would have been 360/480 Your new speed say 36 mbps has the ability to download 1 GB in 4 minutes www.kylesconverter.com |
