It might just apply to pensioners.

1415619 2016-02-09 21:44:00 People should visit med centers and doctors in their own regions/suburbs in populated areas. I have noticed a dramatic increase in waiting times at our Dawson Road Doctors (Part of East Tamaki healthcare). Threes hours frequently. Use to be about 45 mins few years ago.I know many patients are not from our area. Some from more affluent areas. They should go away. kahawai chaser (3545)
1415620 2016-02-09 21:49:00 If I had to wait 3 hours I would be moving to a new area, pronto. Cicero (40)

Created parking issues in the immediate shopping area, So time limits were imposed

I think some of the doctors are well regarded.Plus rebuilt large flash area....But created mass migration of incoming patients. Plus I think they do immigration health checks. I have seen line of people waiting outside before opening. Has been a massive increase in Indian patients, certainly not resident in our suburb.

1415622 2016-02-09 21:54:00 Doctors are like judges - we used to say in the Courts "Everyone waits on the judge; the judge waits on no-one". There were no appointments in Court in those days - you turned up at 10am and took your chances that it would be over some time that day. However, when you make an appointment with a doctor you expect them to keep a semblance of resemblance to what was agreed when the appointment was made. 3 hours sounds like terrible mismanagement or arrogance. People should visit the best doctor not the nearest.
The nearest may be the best but why should they if the doc is hopeless? Docs don't take on more patients once they are at capacity.

1415625 2016-02-10 01:26:00 The procedure to change docs here is -- Fill in form, tick one of five suggestions of discontent, put in name of possible new doc, then wait for approval. Cicero (40)
