| 606216 | 2007-10-29 03:19:00 | I am trying to play a live audio link from a website and everytime i click on it to play, Windows Media Player opens up and displays status 'connecting' for some time and then it says 'attempting to reconnect' and stays there for some time before coming up with 'windows media player was unable to play file' I know its not the link/website or internet connection cause if i play the same link from mylaptop at the same it plays fine Is there anything i can do in WMP equivalent to clearing cache in IE ?? thanks |

| 606219 | 2007-10-29 07:21:00 | Your Firewall isn't blocking the outbound connection is it? I know my Firewall has multiple entries for WMP and while I'm not sure which one is for internet content playback, you might want to try not running a firewall just for like a min and try it then. | beeswax34 (63) | ||
| 606220 | 2007-10-29 07:44:00 | I think it may have something to do with it. I dont have any specific firewall as such i.e Norton/Zone alarm apart from the Windows Firewall i have. i will see if i can find any blockage somewhere. And any other websites which provide live streaming with embedded WMP on the webpage work fine. Oh well will try fiddling |
