607603 2007-11-02 02:37:00 Hi folks. I need some help to upgrade my cpmputer memory. I have a dell dimension 2400 with 256mb ddr sdram 333mhz and it is running soo slow. I know i can upgrade to 1G with 2x 512mb sticks but i am confused as to the exact requirements i should have in the title of memory. e.g.is it dimm or sodimm, 200 pin or 184 pin etc? As you might tell i'm not too up with the play and would really appreciate some help as to what to buy and where to get it. I have been to the dell website and even done the 0800 number but found them not to be much help. look forward to hearing from someone. murtho (12992)

How computer savvy are you?

Is this the first time you have done a ram swap?

607605 2007-11-02 03:21:00 Welcome To PressF1 Murtho,

This is the RAM I normally install in customers with the Dell Dimension 2400.

512Mb DDR266 Corsair Value Select. Normally around $65.00

Dells Like HP/compaqs can be a bit "Picky" about what memory you use.

What ever you purchase make sure you can exchange it if it doesn't work on your PC. This (www.bdt.co.nz) is one of my vendors sites, not mine. The prices there are RRP, but give you a rough Idea, I would stay away from A-Data as that sometimes wont work in Dells.
