607431 2007-11-01 18:50:00 I wish to look at something. I get a mesage . "Adobe Flash Player 8 or higher needed"

I download it and it says it is installed correctly.

I reboot

I go back and try to look at the file.

607432 2007-11-01 19:33:00 Is it just this one thing that you can't view? Or does it happen with a lot of flash? It could just be a problem with the website you're trying to view. ad_267 (6193)
607433 2007-11-01 19:38:00 And this is in what browser??

If FF 2.0.0.8, they screwed it up somehow, so Java and Flash dont work properly.

2.0.0.9 should out out soon to fix it

Speedy can you give me a link to where you got that info, as i have a site that uses both and I want to forestall a flood of queries

Flash seems to work fine for me on Vista ff 2.0.0.8
But java seems to be no go, and thats crucial for this site (well they run a java based chat)

edit

found a link (ffextensionguru.wordpress.com)

I am trying to download Flash 9.0.47.0 into win xp. with IE6
At one stage I got a message IE was blocking it. I have reset my security settings to LOW. active x is allowed.
Now I click on install now. A green band scrolls accross, but that is as far as it goes.
It just does nothing. Left it for half an hour and band was still scrolling.
Nothing happening.
I have Java installed at it seems to work OK.

607438 2007-11-02 00:41:00 Download the Flash Player uninstaller here ( . adobe . com/selfservice/viewContent . do?externalId=tn_14157" target="_blank">kb . adobe . com) and uninstall your current version . Make sure IE is closed first .

Then download Flash Player from here ( . adobe . com/products/flashplayer/" target="_blank">www . adobe . com) and install .

See if that works .
