Do you clean out the system of temp files etc ? if you dont, download the Ccleaner from my sig, run that - See if that makes any difference. Also what Antivirus / Antispyware do you run. One other thing with no programs open, press ctrl+Alt+ Delete, give it a few minutes to settle and see what the CPU Usage steadys out at. Let us know please. |

Temp Files are placed on A pc as errrrrrr temp's for a program or installs while installing, or Temp internet files when browsing the Internet. When you say Memory Card" Are you referring to RAM thats added to the PC Like Picture Of RAM (www.imagef1.net.nz) or a memory card thats plugged into a slot in the PC ? Try This Download Ccleaner from my Sig, install and run it Download Memtest From My Sig, burn the ISO file to CD, There's an ISO program in My sig as well called Imageburn. Reboot the PC with the Memtest CD in the Drive, and let it run through. Download the Free Spyware Doctor from my Sig, install /update and run it. Any memory Errors will show up in red. Delete any spyware if found, do a full Virus scan. See if that stops the Freezing. Let us know the results. |

| 608806 | 2007-11-08 19:50:00 | At what point when using Microsoft Excel and Word does it freeze ? On MSN at what stage does it Freeze ? Try opening Word Excel with this command. Go to Start/run type in the following 1 at a time winword.exe /a excel.exe /a See if it still freezes on them. As apsattv Suggested, go into the Event Viewer / Applications and System, there will indicators as to when it froze, Application Hang etc. Please post back the full discription as well as any codes they give. There may be a few the same, only need the most common ones at this stage from each app thats freezing. To open event Viewer, Start/run type in eventvwr (Press ENTER) |
