609154 2007-11-07 06:40:00 Hi there

Is there anyway I can use Paintshop pro or Photoshop CS2 to convert say landscape photos into some like a picture image in a comic, where the minute detail is glossed over with simple lines defining borders act as boundaries for colour fill.

Ive seen some flash adverts where it appears this has occured, a house backyard with a timber slat fence is depicted with only minor colour deviations, lawn appears uniform green throughout, etc...

Thanks

John in Mosgiel.

Several of the sketch actions or the caricature/comix actions are good at simplifying.

609157 2007-11-07 10:19:00 Try Sympsonizer.

Our good friend Bob_Doe_NZ says this:

www.simpsonizeme.com

You need to start with a large image say around 1024x768, full frontal, portrait and you need to remove the background... Like so (imagef1.net.nz)

Upload it and fingers crossed it will work. It's quiet picky

609158 2007-11-07 10:28:00 Uh, I could have sworn the Sympsonizer just serves up a stock picture from its databases based purely on the characteristics you select for your character.

Not that I tried it to find out....but....

Not that I tried it to find out....but....Can't say for sure yes or no, but when I tried to Simpsonize a photo of my cat it didn't work.

One of the filters in Photoshop CS2 will do it, under the "Artistic" menu. You may need to pass it through several different filters to get the desired effect.

609161 2007-11-07 20:13:00 What you want to look for is "convert photo to lineart" and add the mane of your program to the end of it

I know it can be done with paintshop pro

www.state-of-entropy.com

and here (www.teamphotoshop.com) is a better one using photoshop
