| 610869 | 2007-11-12 08:23:00 | Don't forget there is a Help section that would have found this for you first try by typing in "uninstall programs" into the search box. Control Panel/Programs and features is where you go. |

| 610875 | 2007-11-15 04:28:00 | Defender is built into Vista, it can be removed but not to easy USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK it was posted on another forum, MS was meant to have supplied it 1. Uninstall Windows Defender 2. Go to http://www.sh123.notlong.com/ 3. There you will be prompted to download a zip file 4. Download, save to desktop restart in Safe Mode 5. Extract the bat file double click -It will open the DOS window and will take some time to run; the window will close itself when it is finished; do not close it. This re-registers all dll files. 6. Restart I have NOT TRIED it , but will later tonight on a system that doesn't matter if it gets Screwed, USE it before then at your own risk. I'll post back after I've done it. |

| 610876 | 2007-11-15 04:40:00 | Just turn off Windows Defender, theres really no need to uninstall it. I never ever get any warnings. | beeswax34 (63) | ||
| 610877 | 2007-11-15 05:36:00 | Update to my post in Number 8 - Dont bother - it didn't take it out, still works fine. As beeswax said - disable it. You can turn it off in msconfig / startup Example here (www.groovypost.com) |
