610860 2007-11-12 07:12:00 If I buy a computer, bundled with printer and scanner; I pay one price for the lot.
So I can get broadband for $25 per month from various ISP's - but only if I PAY for something else. I've read the Best BroadBand thread on this site, and we (but not me) seem to accept this.............the word scam comes to my mind.
Of course these schemes suit lots of people; but not me and perhaps some others. The 'phone in this house is my daughter's business 'phone and I seldom need to use a telephone.
So, my question is; is there an honest ISP who'll give a pensioner what they advertise

610861 2007-11-12 07:16:00 Xnet who are operated by World Exchange.

No join fee, no disconnection fee, no 12 month contract.

HOWEVER... You do need to supply your own ADSL modem, but if you just left another one, you usually get to keep it.

610862 2007-11-12 07:23:00 Xnet also don't charge an extra $10 per month if you don't have your tolls with them. CYaBro (73)

610864 2007-11-12 18:37:00 Sounds like you are with IHUG.
I was with them when they "lowered " broadband prices. But to get the lower price you had to sign up for extra services for mobile phones. By the time you did this , broadband was no cheaper.

I am now with xnet. Exactly what I want at a fair price.
