610442 2007-11-11 07:04:00 Depending on your mail client, you may (or in the case of Outlook, may not) get better security and spam filtration. jwil1 (65)
610443 2007-11-11 07:09:00 If you use GTalk for example, and switch to say... Outlook, you lose instant email notification unless you set it to auto download. bob_doe_nz (92)
610444 2007-11-11 07:10:00 You can add Gmail thru OE or Outlook 2007 (and if you add it as IMAP, in Outlook, it'll add the folders in Outlook as well).

(The same folders, like what u see on the Gmail site).

It'll even add the spam folder.

Just dont open it.

Or you could forward your Gmail email, to your pop email (In OE) and use a program like poptray.

Which checks your email every few mins.

You can add domains that u know of that spam to its blacklist.

610445 2007-11-11 18:30:00 I have my Outlook 2003 configured to check for new mail every 5 Minutes so long as the program is open and minimized and I get my Gmail and Ihug mail this way all day long, I could make the time shorter but this suits me and is easy to set up, and requires no other software gary67 (56)
610446 2007-11-11 19:33:00 Having a Gmail account maybe be beneficial for other reasons. You need one for google pages, google gadgets and analytics if you have a website... kahawai chaser (3545)
