Uninstall those drivers you installed. This maybe the mobo and drivers (global.msi.com.tw) You'll ned the 4-1 drivers, the LAN, the sound, and the VGA drivers, if he's using the onboard videocard. |

| 611199 | 2007-11-13 20:24:00 | So i found out his motherboard model was MSI-6734 KM4M-L/L MS-7061 KM4m-V Motherboard chipset VIA VT8378 KM400/KN400 + VT8237 Dunno where you got that from, but it's one or the other, not both. It's either a MS-6734 or MS-7061 (if either of those are correct) If you want a definite answer, look at the motherboard. the model or product number will be on the board somewhere in white lettering.. Because: the MS-6734 uses Realtek Audio Drivers the MS-7061 uses VIA Audio Drivers So you've got to know which one it is else it's not going to work Either way, here is links to latest drivers for both: ftp://202.65.194.212/pc/audio/WDM_A403.exe (Realtek) www.viaarena.com (VIA) |

| 611201 | 2007-11-14 01:16:00 | I guess your board is the MS-7061 then | Agent_24 (57) | ||

I'm using Everest, that's what appears in the Sound card name: VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller What's the correct drivers i have to download for my PC to play sound? Please help me. Many thanks in advance. |

| 611203 | 2009-01-16 00:38:00 | You should start your own thread instead of using someone else's, but since you already asked: That board is a Custom board for HP. It's not on ASUS website for that reason. The audio controller (in the southbridge) is by VIA but boards may often be using a Codec built by someone else. In this case that's true, it's a Realtek ALC658 (according to HP website) As such, the standard Realtek AC'97 driver will probably work - this is assuming you have Windows XP. If you don't, then post back and say what you do have (you should have done this already!) However with Windows XP, there's 3 you could try, in this order: Driver from HP (should work but is rather old): ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp26001-26500/sp26412.exe Driver from Realtek (probably will work, and is a newer version): ftp://66.104.77.130/pc/audio/WDM_A406.exe Driver from VIA (might not work): www.viaarena.com Personally, I'd go for the driver from Realtek. |
