| 611179 | 2007-11-13 07:22:00 | Hi all, My father is currently running some old accounting software on a Windows 2000 machine, which is slowly dying. We have a copy of Win95B that came with our first computer, which was a PCDirect machine. Reading the documentation that came with it, it appears it was all installed when it arrived, with just final setup needed. (I was too young at the time to remember much). Anyway, the point is I am not sure how to actually go about installing it. I realise it is not officially supported on VPC07, but a google search told me it could be done. All the walkthrough sites only talk about setting up VPC though, not the actual installation. Win95 is on a CDRom, with no floppys that I can find. The computer to be installed on is XP, with a floppy drive. Thank you in advance for all your help. -Chris |

| 611181 | 2007-11-13 07:56:00 | Follow up from various sites : if you want to run Windows 95 on Virtual PC 2007? The first thing to know is that it will still run, just without Virtual Machine Additions. The next thing to know is that if you take the Virtual Machine Additions from Virtual PC 2004 and install them on Windows 95 under Virtual PC 2007, it should work. Keep in mind that this is all unsupported. This Form (www.microsoft.com) Woffles on but gives lots of suggestions / fixes , |
