611381 2007-11-15 02:35:00 maybe short circuit or bad motherboard?

611382 2007-11-15 03:20:00 Magandang umaga Shengton,

I feel that some ONE component is shorted out...or drawing to much current out of the PSU.

Like Agent24 said I'd try that venue first, but I might be persuaded to do it backwards.

I'd disconnect everything but the monitor and then start it up. Even leave the mouse out.

Be sure to pull all the RAM sticks too...they can be a problem sometimes.

I know, as do you, that this is gonna get a lot of ruckus with the splash screens (there won't be any) and the fact that your BIOS should report that it cannot find an operating system.

That'd be a good thing seeing even that much. Listen for beeps too.

Now add in one device or card or whatever at a time, checking the results with a cold boot (from no power-to-running).

The "bang" you heard may have been generated by the audio card as it either blew up itself or aurally reported a power loss or surge. Testing further will tell.

Report back.

611383 2007-11-15 15:11:00 1. Yes
2. No
3. When I plug it on to the outlet it will automatically ON. PSU fan and processor fan turn ON itself. The red led only light up, but the green led won't. But no display on the monitor. Hard disk is good same with floppy and CD-ROMs.
4. The monitor just blink and also the keyboard.
5. Yap No POST. No display.
6. No, it won't shut itself off. I'll unplug first before it shut itself off.
7. No need to press the Power button because it's already ON and yes No beep.
8. Absolutely Yes.

So what do you think sir?

Shengton.....I think you missed my reply just ahead of your re-request for my opinion.
Here it is again:

I bought a new PSU "TORNADO KU 450W ATX" sir and it seem same what happened before no display on the monitor. I removed the RAMs already to listen if I can hear one beep but no avail. Also the CMOS I already reset the CMOS through removing the jumper and the battery but no avail.

I don't think so if an AGP videocard can help. I think my motherboard is already damaged. But I'll try to install an AGP videocard first might be the videocard is the culprit. Just pray for me guys, hope this work again.

611386 2007-11-16 01:34:00 On your number 4 sir I forgot to add something.

4. The monitor just blink with the color of yellow and turn into orange. The keyboard also blink but after that no more..

611387 2007-11-16 02:58:00 Man . . . I'm going for total chaos then . . . sounds like you'd need to get a DIGITAL voltmeter on the output of the PSU and start from scratch . . but only turn it on with everything disconnected . . . even the motherboard .

I am going to assume the worst but hope for something better than that .

Go for the voltage test 1st and get back . . you MAY have smoked the whole thing unfortunately .

Sorry :dogeye: :(

611388 2007-11-16 03:11:00 Yap that's what I'm thinking right now. Sounds like I fired up the whole board because of the "BOOM".

Just a question for you sir. Are you a Filipino?

Not Filipino at all . . I just thought you'd like the language recognition, that's all .

I like to meet and talk to people in foreign lands . . . even New Zealand and Australia .

But I am in Southern California . . . and that's why I got time to respond to you . . . at the time you posted I think the residents in Upsidedown Land were all asleep . I was awake .

Please report back what you find as your ultimate answer to your problems . We are all learning here . . . we are all really just students too . . . . at least I am!
