You should be able to double click the symbol with the mouse to insert it, OR, click the one you want and press the insert button at the bottom beside close. |

I don't suppose it matters in the end as long as I can select the required symbol but I am curious as to the reason why I can't select it with the mouse and just high-light it. The only thing I can think that maybe the program has thrown a wobbly but everything else works ok?.Try going Help / Detect and Repair, and follow the on-screen instructions. |

I'll re-emphasise Bantu's point above -- you need to double-click if you want to use the mouse to insert. Single-clicking will only highlight it :) |

Hi Pato. Does look like you have a gremlin. Whenever Word plays up I run Help>Detect and Repair and most times it sorts itself out. Costs nothing to try. |

I will give it a try but I am not too worried about it but I was beginning to think I just imagined you could just click on the symbol but with everyones help I now know I am still sane LOL Cheers and thanks to everyone for your assistance. |
