611229 2007-11-13 20:14:00 Anyone happen to know another way to get into safe mode? When I press F8 for the boot menu there isn't an option, my mobo manual is no help whatsoever. Revenant712 (13023)
611230 2007-11-13 20:17:00 Press F8 again. After u select the boot disk.

Hold it down. The other pc here has the same thing (F8 for the boot disk and safe mode).

611231 2007-11-13 20:25:00 Safe mode didn't help, still can't type in my pass at the login screen. >.< Revenant712 (13023)
611232 2007-11-13 22:53:00 You'll have to find or buy a PS/2 kb then. If you're still using the USB kb. Speedy Gonzales (78)
611233 2007-11-13 23:32:00 Looks like thats the only thing I can do. Finding ones gonna be a quest in itself, but you gotta do what you gotta do right? haha

thanks everyone!

611234 2007-11-14 01:04:00 hi the prob u are experiecing could be the fact that win xp sometimes turns on the power management for usb root hub

go to device manager right click usb root hub then power managment disable power management this now means the usb will remain active

611236 2007-11-14 04:55:00 We had this exact problem on 1 of our girls PC's the other day

After heaps of searching on the internet I found a solution that worked for us

1. Shut down Windows
2. Unplug the PC from the wall
3. Switch the on/off switch a couple of times
4. Plug i the PC and start up the machine

I suspect it was because an Ipod was removed from the PC whilst syncing either way the fix worked immediately

Good Luck
