2007-11-14 05:26:00 | Yesterday, my computer just fine then between 10 to 20 minutes somethings like "BOOM" inside my system unit. So everything goes down. When I press the power button it won't turn ON anymore. So I suspected that the problem is the PSU. I replaced PSU using my Dad's PSU just to diagnose if it's the PSU is the culprit. So when I plugged it on my computer will automatically turn on. So what's going on with my computer? Please help me with my problem...

2007-11-14 05:56:00 | My Dad's PSU don't have yong parang switch at the back of the PSU where you can switch to 115V and 230V. While my PSU (which is already dead) have. | SHENGTON (13025) | |
2007-11-14 06:16:00 | When you say it turns on with your dads PSU, does it fully start up and run normally, or simply "fire up into life" with the fans etc , but wont fully start ? What also is the Motherboard make and model - it will be printed on the board some place ? Assuming you are in NZ leave that voltage switch alone - thats for changing the voltages in other countries that use 110 Volt. Change that to the wrong voltage and you will get a BOOM!

2007-11-14 12:34:00 | I'm sorry for the language. "yong parang" is a tagalog language because I'm a Filipino. I forgot to change it to universal language. | SHENGTON (13025) | |
2007-11-14 12:38:00 | Update: I tried other monitor but no avail. When I plug it on, the computer automatically start but no display. Just notice, the red led or the power button will only light. But the green led won't function anymore. What do you think is the problem?

2007-11-14 15:12:00 | Let's do this in steps. 1) when you plug the power cord into the wall socket, does the computer turn itself on? 2) do you have to push the power button in to make the computer turn on? 3) when it DOES turn on, what actually happens? a- the fans spin only and the power light is lit but nothing else happens. b- or you can hear the harddrive spin up (maybe a click or a whirring noise) too. c- you can hear the floppy drive run (if it has one) or the cd-rom drive blinks and tries to run and then shuts off. 4) the display (CRT/LCD) screen light is green or yellow or blinks? 5) there is NO post screen (no data or words ever appear on the monitor?) 6) the unit shuts itself off and all the lights go out? 7) there are NO beeps when the computer is first turned on with the power switch? 8) it just sits there, doing nothing, blank and just the fans run? PS: I think the universal language is not required here..it's just that so few people speak Latin any more.

2007-11-15 02:23:00 | 1. Yes 2. No 3. When I plug it on to the outlet it will automatically ON. PSU fan and processor fan turn ON itself. The red led only light up, but the green led won't. But no display on the monitor. Hard disk is good same with floppy and CD-ROMs. 4. Yellow 5. Yap No POST. No display. 6. No, it won't shut itself off. I'll unplug first before it shut itself off. 7. No need to press the Power button because it's already ON and yes No beep. 8. Absolutely Yes. So what do you think sir?
