| 612714 | 2007-11-18 05:53:00 | My Toshiba Satellite M30 laptop is unable to control the LCD brightness. It is done via Function and F6 F7. From what I understand it requires a program hwsetup.exe that enables the special functions keys and also the cpu speedstep etc. I have Googled this and although I have found a copy of it is for a much earlier Toshiba. This program is also available in the M30 recovery Disk (that I dont have.) I am also lead to believe most Toshiba Satellite machines that are running XP and have Intel Centrino Cpus would have a suitable program in the WINDOWS system 32 directory. Any suggestions please. |

| 612719 | 2007-11-18 20:47:00 | Thanks. So far I have been able to find a program that allows you to set your own function keys for program shortcuts but none of these are the factory setup that has the f + f6/f7 brightness controls. | eddie1 (3003) | ||
| 612720 | 2007-11-21 20:27:00 | solution is you need to download and install2 programs - common utilities and powersaver - then everything will work correctly - thanks for comments | eddie1 (3003) | ||
