612079 2007-11-16 21:07:00 Setup one of these yesterday - not exactly fast - and dont install the Norton internet security. Usually wont be able to use to many programs at once . Remember its a BUDGET - LOW spec PC - get what you pay for.

LCD is Nice though :D

Microsoft says 512 is the Min amount of RAM for Vista - reccommending at least 1 Gb (twice what that has)

612080 2007-11-17 06:00:00 wainuitech, thanks for that and we will wait until the holidays, when our son is down, he and son-in-law can between them set wifey up with what should be ample for her requirements.

In the meantime her Acer 540 lappy has come back from daughter, it's got XP Pro with 256mb ram which is fairly slow tooo.

It drives the IP4500 Canon printer though.

Thanks again and perhaps we can ask again for your specs, nearer to xmas.

612081 2007-11-17 06:01:00 Get something with more ram, and something that doesnt use a celeron. Speedy Gonzales (78)
612082 2007-11-17 06:38:00 I'd rather have more ram, celeron is fine for standard things (though I'd prefer a sempron :p) Agent_24 (57)
612083 2007-11-17 07:27:00 Thanks Speedy and Agent. Will ask again nearer to xmas, she will more $$$ then too.
