| 612116 | 2007-11-17 06:43:00 | Welcome to F1 Ret - :thumbs: Click on Start / Run type in eventvwr When the event viewer opens look at the logs for application & system - in there will be an error at the exact time the WMP crashed , double click on it / Them and post back Exactly what the errors say - there may be more than 1, so look for a common one(s). Lets see what its doing. |

Second of all, why dont u try Winamp? but offcourse we need to FIX the problem so tell us what u find in the event manager. PS: Once you remove the McAfee Security Centre and install anything else for example AVG free antivirus, u willnotice a major boost in speed in your system!! |

| 612118 | 2007-11-17 10:01:00 | Did you upgrade to WMP11 from WMP10? And you said going back to WMP10 won't work either? | erika (12859) | ||
| 612119 | 2007-11-17 17:24:00 | It's up in the air right now . . but once you get WMP11, it takes all the files associated with it and reassigns certain rights to them that cannot then be reset to allow WMP10 to see them or play them . One BIG trick was getting back to v10 from v11 . . . . some have done so successfully . . others not . It has to do with digital signatures and such and WMP11 is just a Nazi in your computer anyway . . get rid of it . You don't have to go out and get another player . . . WMP10 works just fine . I actually like it a lot and use it all the time and don't need anything else to do what I need except to . . er . . . shrink an occasional dvd or so . . but I can do that in the US . . maybe not in your neck of the world . . be careful there . . |

| 612120 | 2007-11-17 18:44:00 | I upgraded WMP 10 to 11 without a problem (using 11 as I type this), so the problem could be a third party app. Oh, and Joe, he said WMP10 crashes as well. ;) |

Oh, and Joe, he said WMP10 crashes as well . ;) True . . . he did . . but was it BEFORE or AFTER attempting to repair WMP11 or view/listen to things in it? :stare: Before is one thing . . but after is usually a v11 screw up . I know you like v11 . . and swear by it . . . but a lot more are swearing AT it for all the troubles and problems after it's "upgraded" from v10 . |
