2007-11-16 07:17:00 | My Asus P5B-E motherboard manual says to enable hyperthreading in the advanced section of bios setup. But there is nothing in bios about hyperthreading. CPU is intel x6800 Can anyone tell me how to get hyperthreading working?

2007-11-16 07:30:00 | Hyperthreading was for the old Pentium CPUs that made it look like it was a dual core CPU when really it wasn't. The new Core 2 Duo and Quad Cores don't have hyperthreading as they have actual CPU cores.

2007-11-16 07:37:00 | at a wild guess, I'd say it supports HT on cpu's that also have HT, out of luck with the core 2 duo though, It has features rather then gimmicks. ntel® Quad-core CPU Ready LGA775 socket for Intel® Core2 Extreme / Core2 Duo / Pentium® Extreme / Pentium® D / Pentium® 4 / Celeron® D Processors Compatible with Intel® 05B/05A/06 processors Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology ready

2007-11-16 07:41:00 | Pentium D Extreme Edition CPUs have two cores AND HTT as far as I can remember. | qazwsxokmijn (102) | |
2007-11-16 07:42:00 | Ive never seen HT crash. Altho, it'll be hard to crash since its on the CPU. Unless u killed the CPU. Obviously u havent had any programs that support HT Just Insane Or a CPU that supports HT.
