| 613696 | 2007-11-22 01:36:00 | Bummer I have on several occassions tried to solder this type of cable. It has been successful once but with your cable with all tracks broken, I don't think you have a chance. Even with a temperature controlled soldering iron, all that will happen is bit by bit the tracks melt back away from the break. It is not a copper ribbon in the tracks, but some sort of encapsulated carbon that just disappears when over heated. Ring DELL with model and s/n. You may be pleasantly surprised as to the cost.
