613069 2008-11-26 09:11:00 Xtra - don't make me laugh.

Telstra Clear Cable is great - apart from I can't live within my 20 Gig limit and typically so about ten gig over.

Can we assume you have used Xtra in their new clothes,so to speak.

They seemed to have improved since the genius sheila left.

613070 2008-11-26 09:13:00 3kb/s?
That is VERY slow.
I think kbps and kb/s are the same, both mean kilobytes per second

Wrong.

Little b = bits, Big B = Bytes

The fact is Xtra now offer a better deal . Or so it seems .

I agree with you . Through years of turmoil and being branded the cr*ppiest ISP I saw things change for the better at Xtra - and people like me do not like to jump ISP every month . I'm quite happy with my 6500 kbps speed now, thank you . Xtra must be doing something right .

613073 2008-11-26 19:25:00 I have just join xtra on the adventure plan and its heaps better than before the speed is faster and so on but the customer support still eats s*** Silver_Blade (10144)
613074 2008-11-26 19:41:00 I know why theres a thread on this every few months. It's cause the ISP's service changes every few months. I saw my post at the start of the thread and wondered how many I'd had before posting that - then realised it was last year. How things change. wratterus (105)
613075 2008-11-26 20:09:00 Ooops, I didn't notice how old this thread was, either!! linw (53)
613076 2008-11-27 00:49:00 Best ISP service in NZ is still Telstra Cable available in Well and CHCH, second to none consistency and "real life" multi source downloads speed usually matching what the connection is rated at (in other words 10MB will download at 1100KB/s ish allowing overhead, and not testing with that worthless Speedtest.net).

Telstra seem to have a lot of intentional bandwidth so there DSL is also amongst the best, however there Help Desk support sucks so "the Best" is slightly subjective.

613077 2008-11-27 02:40:00 Cable is available for what,10% of NZ, so no point in looking for a good average there. Cicero (40)
