613518 2007-11-21 12:31:00 good luck........

I had similar problem with windoze explorer crashing

I'm reasonably good at fixing pc's - done it for a few years now

Even with help from net sites such as this one and others in the end my only recourse was to wipe the system and do a clean install.......even a repair install failed to cure the problem

613520 2007-11-21 19:46:00 yup......it's a major.........takes about 2 1/2 hours for a complete reinstall including reinstalling some of your programs, and the contents of your documents/emails/and other folders and your system settings and etc.......and of course before you start you hafve to save that stuff you dont want to lose by writing it to cd or whatever........ drcspy (146)
613521 2007-11-21 22:56:00 if you had limewire wouldn't be surprised if its got spyware.

Try the free Spyware doctor in my sig, as well as spybot S& D.

I also use the trojan remover Speedy has in his sig - Then ran spyware doctor and it plucked out a further 129 Spyware in a customers PC.

Runs a LOT better now - almost as good a a fresh install.

Also download Wise Disk Cleaner (http://www.wisecleaner.com/) it really rips out temp files, even ones that Ccleaner misses.
MY own PC here got an extra 200Mb of junk removed, and I use Ccleaner twice a day.

613522 2007-11-22 01:27:00 I've had this trouble in the past. In my case it was caused by a faulty music or video download. To fix it I would ignore the Explorer message and look for the faulty file, sometimes you could tell because the Icon would'nt appear, if not I would try opening them all until I found the one that would not play, and delete it. You get a number of crashes and Dr Watson's but in the end you can usually do it. Now whenever I get a faulty file I delete it straight away. waldo (12864)
613523 2007-11-22 02:23:00 Well, it was still happening this morning, but life got in the way and I had to go out. I have been thinking bout going back to a restore point. But I had the brainwave, cos I was sure it was this file in incomplete, but i couldnt get to it cos my docs would shut down. So I opened a new email, went to add an attachment, instead, found the file in the incomplete folder and deleted it.

ALL FIXED NOW!! Sheesh Doctor!! You gave me a damned fright!!

Have a good day ... only 33 days till Santa comes with my new DVD recorder thingy OMG I hope we can figure it out!!
