| 613049 | 2007-11-20 03:41:00 | Be fair JJ,we don't all live on here. Thanks to everyone for your helpful responses. And thanks Cicero, i certainly don't live on this forum. In fact that was my 1st post & about the 3rd time I've checked out the forum at all, despite having bought NZ World for several years. I can't wait until we have NO data limits & lightening fast broadband, but I'm not holding my breath. Cheers all |

| 613051 | 2007-11-20 06:11:00 | Re which is best ISP! I have found that "Orcon"( before their change of ownership) to be very good. However after a year with Xnet I have to say I think that they are way out front and best value for money. |

| 613052 | 2008-08-12 06:51:00 | I'm with Telecom Broadband "Pro" which is the 15360MB cap. My speeds based five minutes ago (world speedtest) is currently: Download Speed: 6722Kbps Upload Speed: 596.9Kbps It's awesome, but I'll stay away from the plans with traffic, which are Basic, Go, Explorer and Adventure. If you pick one of those, your wasting money where you can pay much less for the same speeds and data elsewhere, but Telecom "Go Express", "Pro", "Pro Advanced" and "Pro Ultra" are found to be the fastest (for now), along with the higher plans for Xnet. My speeds are always the same, and they never decrease. So I half agree with Telecom haters, but stay away from all the plans up to ADVENTURE, the other four are very fast. Proof of this is by using the Isposure client. |

Oh my god. Hell no, I'm 17 yrs old dude, this is just an opinion. You must be the same guy from that other thread who said something similar, I can't remember. Anyway, I didn't say Telecom was the best ISP, that would be Xnet (in my opinion based on the everything), and the worst is vodafone. Personally, Telecom are OK, I just envy the speeds of the plans mentioned in the previous post. I cannot give a link because they don't have a URL. I can admit the prices suck. "Anytime" is a complete rip-off every month. |

| 613055 | 2008-08-12 07:38:00 | I have never complained about Xtra speed for myself. I think the helpdesk may have issues but fortunately I can help myself so therefore do not need the help. I do realise that other people may or do need help and that should be forthcoming in a timely manner. There again I do not download everything and anything off the Internet. Sorry JJJJJ. I use Xtra because it suits my needs, location and budget. Xnet may well be a good ISP but I have seen threads on PressF1 which tend to not make me want to join. Your quote:- "And just when I thought we all agreed that xnet was the best." If I take that as quoted then I have to tell you that I never agreed that xnet was the BEST. Therefore you may wish to rephrase that. Use words like some, more, most, few etc. I know that you can not prove ALL as such as there is least one person on this Forum whom does not use xnet. We all live in different locations and some will have issues like children accessing a computer at home whilst bringing a friend home with their latest download from a torrent for example. Then again we have seen threads about, how do I limit my flatmate from sucking my bandwith etc. |

QUOTE] I do like Telecom Xtra, probably second best overall. I just dislike the prices for one plan that you can get cheaper and for the same data and speeds. But I stay with Telecom "Pro", because the speeds are very quick, and that's always. The down speed is a minimum of 6,500Kbps and the upload never usually goes under 520Kbps. |

| 613057 | 2008-08-12 08:33:00 | Xtra speeds are good on the hyper expensive plans, but then, I'd prefer something cheaper. Also, upload speeds are CRAP until you go on the plans where you pay $80 a month. 128 or even 256 kbits upload with a download of 1 mbits is crap, I would rather have a 512/512 kbits plan. That way, most games wouldn't lag, and uploading attachements or youtube vids wouldn't take two hours. | SPARTAN 860 (2618) | ||
