2007-11-24 02:58:00 | Is this true? I'm using XNET and their Usage meter program and the download goes up by 100mb increments for about every 20 minutes I play Team Fortress 2 online... wtf? How the hell can I enjoy gaming when it takes up my download? I'll be over my 20gb plan in no time :( It doesn't make sense, I've already downloaded the game, their shouldn't be a reason as to why it downloads while I am playing...

2007-11-24 03:07:00 | Well, of course it does, theres a lot of data going between you, the servers for the games, and the people youre playing against Its a lot more, than just browsing websites, or downloading files.

2007-11-24 03:10:00 | Team Fortress 2 is a steam game and it tends to be updated a lot. There was a big update for TF2 which might have been updated without you noticing. I find TF2 uses about 20mb an hour when I play. | WidowmakerNZ (13048) | |
2007-11-24 03:23:00 | When playing games you are having to download the data of other players as well as your's. Yes it can use it's fair share and it can't be helped. 100mb for 20minutes is excessive though so there may have been something updating.

And according to the usage monitor I'm using from Xnet. Local is 0.93, (inc email) International is 2.52 and National = 0.54. Total usage atm = 3.06 (which doesnt inc Local). If email was inc, it'll be 3.99 GB. |
