614573 2007-11-24 07:37:00 You must have programs running in the background, that update or something.

Kill them.

No I don't. I already checked.

614574 2007-11-24 07:48:00 The Xnet usage monitor was down earlier this week and it is currently catching up with all the bandwidth missed which is a slow and lengthy process.

Please refer to the status report: xnet.co.nz the catchup process should be finished by Friday (30/11) and should be back to normal after that.

614575 2007-11-24 07:50:00 Oh ok, I thought there was something wrong with it.

I'll soon find out, I'll go down in speed lol, which hasnt hapened YET.

Altho mine went up pretty fast. It was only 1.14 Thurs, its now upto 3.11 GB.

Wheres that Status info the main screen anyway?

I cant see anything about it on the Xnet site. Whats it under?

Edit: Doh Just saw it, its on the main page lol. Alongside network Status.

614579 2007-11-24 09:02:00 I find TF2 uses about 20mb an hour when I play. That's what I found out with most online games I play. If he's using more than that then I'd say it's updates etc, which'll be only temporary bandwidth usage. His 20gig account should be plenty unless he's playing 24/7. :horrified Greg (193)
614580 2007-11-25 02:50:00 Have you got a secure wireless network? Someone could be piggy-backing on yours if it is not encrypted. lakewoodlady (103)
614581 2007-11-25 23:32:00 also there could be spyware/trojans calling back in the background. Although you'd need a lot of these to account for usage to be noticable I think. utopian201 (6245)
614582 2007-11-25 23:46:00 I don't see anyone mentioning it - but most ISPs refer to "usage" - not "download", since your data usage is made up of both upload and download. In a gaming situation your data usage might be twice what you expect. Since games will be updating the server as much as getting situation updates.

E.g with Xtra (i suspect other isps the same) Usage = download data + upload data.
