614416 2007-11-24 07:48:00 If you want to get really clever then you can use DVDShrink, and *only* DVDShrink to do the whole thing.
Tell it you want to Re-Author a DVD
Drag the "main move" across from the right to the left a couple of times
Now, on each one you can set the start / end-points of where it should copy, and make a kind of 'timeline'.
At the end of it, hit "Backup" and DVDShrink will do all the work and even allow you to burn the finished product.

More than happy to stop by and say hi if you get too stuck :)

Cheers

Hi Chill
Great to hear from you. Thanks for the offer too !!
You can pop around any time of course - even Mrs Misty knows of your fame ;) and would be happy to see you anytime :)
The site you mention says

Best Offer - Unlimited Membership & - Lifetime access for only one payment of NZ$33
Get Unlimited Technical Support and Unlimited Updates - Lifetime access for only one payment of NZ$21
Get the AntiVirus Software - Be sure to stay secure - Lifetime access for only one payment of NZ$9
Get the Recovery Protection (if you lose your application, you will always be able to re-install it) - Lifetime access for only one payment of NZ$16

They even quote in NZ dollars - amazing ! and the rate of exchange is fine according to "NZCity".

Presumably the basic plan would be fine without the extras ? What do you think please ?
Misty

PS - you said "if you want to get really clever" - that would be a big leap for me if you are talking in electronic/digital terms  - takes me five times as long to learn anything as most PressF1 members.

Thanks Chill ! :)
I have now downloaded my free copy of DVDShrink and this morning have used it (since 4.30am !) to cut out various parts of a very old family video which had been transcribed from old film made in the early 1960's. To do this I cut it into seven parts which enabled the bits with major defects not to be used. Looking over it I have not been ruthless enough and even though quite a bit of time was taken up it has been a very good, if steep, learning curve. I may have to restart and do it again (but will be much quicker next time).

Am really glad it is free and most sites (including the one you gave a link for) tell you that. I do not know what this other site is - but it tries to charge for the same product !

It may be that what they are trying to get you to pay for is membership of a downloading site - but if that is really the case then they do clearly insinuate that you need to pay for DVDShrink. Luckily I held back and now have it free, thanks to you.
