| 614311 | 2007-11-23 08:07:00 | Hmmm, Looking at the feature lists I can find for Media Player Classic v6.4.9.0 I can't see that it has any codecs built into it, and at just over 2MB I can't see that that its a big enough download to incorpeta any. So, My opinion is that just like a non-hacked WMP it simply looks for installed codecs on the system for playback. |

It looks to be a ground-up build just made to look like WMP, and one of its main features is it incoperates the codecs required for playback of DVD media. MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 playback This player is capable of VCD (en.wikipedia.org), SVCD (en.wikipedia.org) and DVD (en.wikipedia.org) playback, without the need to install any additional software or codecs. Media Player Classic has built-in codecs for MPEG-2 (en.wikipedia.org) video with support for subtitles and codecs for LPCM (en.wikipedia.org), MP2 (en.wikipedia.org), AC3 (en.wikipedia.org) and DTS (en.wikipedia.org) audio. It also contains an improved MPEG (en.wikipedia.org) splitter that supports subtitles on SVCDs and supports direct playback of VCDs and SVCDs using its VCD/SVCD/XCD Reader. On October 30 (en.wikipedia.org), 2005 (en.wikipedia.org) Gabest added *.mp4 (en.wikipedia.org) and MPEG-4 Timed Text (en.wikipedia.org) support.
