613914 2007-11-22 03:57:00 Hi, I'm connected to BroadBand with xnet, and for financial reasons bought a $40 modem (XH9972). I've got it working on an old ME computer, which dual boots with Simply Mepis. Is there any way that I can get Mepis to use the modem through Windows ME.
My main Question is:- Ubuntu is on my other computer and I'd like to use the modem for this. Searches have revealed that cheap USB modems can be difficult (no supprises there) with Linux. But I'm wondering if anyone has any thing to help get it going with Ubuntu (Fiesty).
Thanks in anticipation............sarum

It might still work, even tho the modem is USB.

In Ubuntu.

613917 2007-11-22 19:53:00 Thanks Speedy; I have tried it, but before I learned that St John's ambulance alarm can cause problems. I'll give it a go this evening after unplugging Saint John.
The site recommended by Nigel seems promising. I shall have another look at that this evening as well.
Thanks again to you both...............sarum
