| 615336 | 2007-11-26 06:11:00 | Hi We're having problems with new (secondhand) PC. It's shutting down at random and displaying error msg: NMI:Parity Check/Memory Parity error Manual says memory modules (there are two 1GB memory sticks) should be installed in memory module connectors 1 and 2 which are in separate pairs of connectors. However, the two mem sticks are installed side-by-side in connectors 1 and 3. Is this likely cause of the error? Thanks. |

Download memtest from my sig, unzip it and burn the ISO to a CD, ( image burner in my sig also if needed) Boot from the CD & run a memory test - and work through the form post above in the second link. |

However, the two mem sticks are installed side-by-side in connectors 1 and 3 errrrrrrrrr........it usually pays to do what the manual says ! |
