615017 2007-11-25 10:02:00 Hi

So...I have a question

I am able to find so many software out there that can report me in the taskbar the temperature of my harddrive but none of the software out there are able to detect and report to me the temperature of my external harddrive

Are there any software that can tell me the temperature of my external harddrive ?

615018 2007-11-25 19:45:00 This might (www.oo-software.com)

It shows the temp of hdd's (well internal ones) and which hdd is being accessed.

But its not free. It runs out after 30 days.

Is what it looks like when its running.

You can put it wherever u want, and it can also run / load on startup.

615022 2007-11-26 00:19:00 Is S.M.A.R.T enabled for the external hdd, in the BIOS?

Dont know if it'll make a diff or not.

I havent got ay external hdds here, to test it.

Thats the only thing I can think of, why it doesnt appear.

615023 2007-11-26 00:52:00 It's related to smart, HDD temp monitoring. Which is exactly why you can't easily monitor the temp of an external drive. wratterus (105)
