615207 2007-11-29 05:43:00 Well guys
You succesfully identified where the problem lay (lies). I began to suspect that it had to do with the wireless network at the office as the only time it crashes is in the office. However, having downloaded the new drivers the quickload key for internet explorer still doesn't work. . still havent deleted any files so I am unsure whether the problem is fixed.
I reitterate that the problem only occurs in the office and I am at a loss to what to do to fix it as I can't get on the internet in the office.

Any help greatly appreciated

615208 2007-11-29 05:58:00 So, its not crashing now tho??

And the only thing that doesnt work now, is the quickload (whatever that is)

Is this like a utility for the keyboard, for like shortcuts/commands for programs?

Umm if its the wireless that the prob the file I gave was for the LAN.

Might pay to get the wireless drivers as well (dlsvr01.asus.com)

615209 2007-11-29 06:12:00 No, it doesn't crash when I am out of the office. It is obviously an compatibility issue with the office wireless network. Just a thought, but if I connected with a cable would the same problems arise?
I haven't deleted any drivers as yet as I was concerned about being able to connect to the net.

Only one way to find out - try it, may just be something in the wireless - thats part of fault finding - narrow down possible causes.

615211 2007-11-29 06:25:00 So, if this is in an office, why are you fixing it? Speedy Gonzales (78)
615212 2007-11-29 06:46:00 So, if this is in an office, why are you fixing it?

I don't understand your question speedy. It is my own computer which I use for work purposes. I suspect you mean "why am I fixing it, as opposed to someone else doing it?"
We are independent contracters and there is no IT department to get to fix it.

615213 2007-11-29 06:49:00 Thats ok I thought it was a work computer (not your own) Speedy Gonzales (78)
615214 2007-11-29 06:58:00 yes speedy thought that is what you meant but some times it is hard to understand the emphasis from the simple text.
God, I wish I could give it to someone. You might recall I had huge problems with the PC that was on my desk (company supplied) I finally managed to get this one up and playing happily with the others and after a week away it decide to spit the dummy. As far as I know there have been no changes to the network, but who knows?

615215 2007-12-04 03:25:00 I wish I could say that this problem was fixed guys, however.
Speedy, I tied the link you gave me for drivers dlsvr01.asus.com I am afraid nothing happened. IE loaded up and looked for it but nothing appeared.

It seems the problem is with NDIS.sys however I don't understand how I can fix it.
The ASUS site has changed since that old post and I can't find the drivers for the quick load keys anymore.

The W/L Lan download is for a control centre which as far as I can see doesn't actually do anything.
Any help gratefully received.
