615312 2007-11-26 20:45:00 I think Gary means VLC (VideoLan) Media player.

It will play pretty much anything, but lacks a library, so for most people it isn't ideal for music.

You can download it from here (www.videolan.org) if you want to try it

Try renaming the file to a .mpg, .mpeg, or .avi.

Uninstall that other codec thing, but leave k-lite on there.

Edit - Speedy beat me to it again...

615313 2007-11-26 20:50:00 Dont get too carried away with installing codecs.

Some install malware.

So be careful WHERE you get them from.

615314 2007-11-26 20:53:00 shoulnt i be looking for a audio codec? nerd (109)
615315 2007-11-26 20:58:00 Audio files don't normally require codecs.

The file is probably fubar, possibly encoded in some wierd format, or possibly even a virus, if you got it off limewire or some other file sharing app.

Try downloading it again.

As speedy said, don't go nuts with the codecs. It is generally good to just install one at a time, k-lite is very good. Keep it.
