614929 2007-11-25 03:52:00 Depends what kind of card, AGP/PCI-E.

And how much ram you want on it.

Do you want AGP or PCI-E?

And whether you want to use it for games.

Or just basic things.

Altho, I wouldn't call $230 cheap.

614932 2007-11-25 04:06:00 thanks any1 else got any shops? jde2200 (13058)
614933 2007-11-25 04:09:00 Well it depends on WHERE you are, and whether you're going to pay for it online.

Or whether youre going to go to the shop yourself and pick it up.

Obviously, if you're going to pick it up, you wouldnt want a shop in Auckland, if youre in Wellington.

Or nowhere near Auckland.

That list is a list of most computer places in NZ.

If the shop isnt there, it most probably doesnt exist.

614934 2007-11-25 04:11:00 ok. dose the brand of the card matter? are certain brands of the 8600gts better than other brands? jde2200 (13058)
614935 2007-11-25 04:21:00 Wouldnt have a clue, never had a PCI-E card, or a 8600 GTS.

But they'll most probably use the same drivers.

One of the other guys who knows about PCI-E/the 8600 GTS maybe able to tell you more.
