He isn't an establishment candidate and he isn't a Tea Partier (who have somehow pretty much taken over the GOP at this point). He is appealing to the voters who want conservative economic policy without all of the craziness that goes along with the Tea Party movement as well as independents who dislike establishment candidates. This isn't even considering the fact that Trump is an excellent public speaker and how he has played the media for the entirety of his campaign so far. I wouldn't be surprised if he got the nomination. On the other side, the DNC is no better. Total mess of a party. Hopefully Sanders gets the nod. IMO Hillary loses to Trump or Cruz on the email scandal alone. Not sure about Rubio, he's a way weaker speaker than Trump/Cruz. Might not be able to really put Hillary away in the debates. |
