1416490 2016-02-25 04:28:00 Gave up on them years ago. Last few times we have been into the shop at westfield ( sales weekends etc) their sale prices were still higher than other places like Harvey Normans and Noel Leemings normal prices. A few things "just browsing"-- Holey hell are they kidding, prices were ridiculous. And service -- ??? what service, all the staff were rude and couldn't be bothered. wainuitech (129)

Agree - what I experienced at the Manukau store a few years ago. Still, a name 1000's of NZ's grew up with though since mid - late 70's I think was the first time I visited them. But why is newcomer JB HiFi healthy, yet they seemingly command relatively high prices...

1416492 2016-02-25 07:01:00 Yeah, can't claim to have ever been a big customer of them, but have had a 30 year 'relationship with them, from geek hobby store to cheesy electronics retail.

Their prices weren't always bad. I once compared prices on HDD, DSE vs Noel Leeming. NL price was over 50% higher than DSE. I crossed the carpark to NL because nobody at DSE was serving me, but ultimately the price difference sent me back pronto. If you save me a hundy you can ignore me and even swear at me if you wish. I'll take it and pocket my hundy.

DSE haven't been an electronic shop in years.
We found them, rude, expensive and difficult if there was ever an issue.

Because JB HiFi hasn't been bought by an equity company and then loaded up with debt that they can't pay off. This is why DSE went down the tubes.

Wonder what happens to the warranty of products they have sold?? I bought the finance committee a new HP laptop July last year??

HP NZ will still honor warranty. Just contact HP support , thats all that DSE would do if you took it back to them for warranty repairs.
.....assuming it wasnt parallel imported by DSE
