616686 2007-11-30 03:37:00 How do I install the wireless driver for this Toshiba laptop? I downloaded and unzipped the driver from their website and found that there are only 3 files:

Netwv48.inf, wlluc48.sys and wlluc48.cat

XP does not detect this Wireless device at all.

How do I let XP knows that I have this wireless?

Same problem with the Infra red device.

Please advise

616687 2007-11-30 03:47:00 So there are no Unknown Devices or anything with an exclamation mark listed in Device Manager?

Also check in the BIOS to see if you can enable the wireless card.
Also sometimes there is a switch on the laptop somewhere that you need to turn on to get the wireless working but this doesn't usually stop it from showing up in Device Manager.

But there isn't a wireless entry in the device manager!

616692 2007-11-30 06:14:00 ok use the new hardware wizard in control panel and choose 'yes I have connected the hardware'.......then clik next then scroll to the bottom of the list and choose 'add new hardware device' then clik next then clik 'install the hardware manually' then clik next then choose the device you want 'network adaptor' or 'pcmcia device' or whatever it is then clik 'have disk'........then 'point' the browse box at the inf file you have downloaded.........

ah........um.....laptop........they often have a switch on them PHYSICAL switch that turns the wireless on /off.......

616693 2007-11-30 06:18:00 I would say it isnt enabled in the BIOS Or the button/key for it isnt on.

It should appear in device manager if it's enabled.

And thats when u load the inf file from the entry in device manager.
