2007-11-30 01:15:00 | My laptop will only defrag for 35% of its capacity using the Windows System Tools Defrager. There's a whole lot of red in there! Cheap help required. | FRANKLIN (13075) | |
2007-11-30 01:17:00 | Boot into safe mode and defrag it. Other than that there are other programs you can download, but you may have to pay for them after.

2007-11-30 01:22:00 | No prob, the only prob with Windows defragger is if you try and defrag in normal windows, if anything is running, it'll keep going back to the start. You'll be there forever. If u do it in safe mode, nothing is running, so you'll have more chance of it finishing.

2007-11-30 02:08:00 | Tried Safe Mode. Got a message that some files could not be defragged (about 4.5 Gig). Still looks very red. Will see if I can find suitable program. | FRANKLIN (13075) | |
2007-11-30 02:08:00 | Umm, you could either try auslogics disk defrag. I use it, really good to use. Free too. :) www.auslogics.com Or iobit smart defrag. I've heard good things about it as well. Free as well. www.iobit.com

2007-11-30 03:20:00 | Tried Auslogics to no avail but ccleaner enabled me to identify the problem file and delete it. Thanks for your help guys. | FRANKLIN (13075) | |
2007-11-30 04:00:00 | Download and run Vopt from www.vopt.com It is shareware but you get 30 days free trial. It is great and regains more hard drive space back. It even defrags the Windows defragger. It was also reccommended on PC World Magazine by someone not long ago. That's how I found out about it. | lakewoodlady (103) | |
