616529 2007-11-29 16:04:00 I seen my graphics card hit 73 degrees the other day, and according to another temperature reading, something else is hitting 57+ degrees. I have an HP case now, specifically an a1235w. I have an Nvidia Geforce 7300 GT video card. Want to be safe so I'm buying a case. What do you guys think about this case, making future upgrades, price, quality? Money really isn't a problem but I dont want to over do it (i.e. water cooling), but I also don't want to be ripped off.

616530 2007-11-29 16:59:00 Case looks ok for the price... and I assume it's in US$'s. But I don't think your temperatures are anything to worry about. Greg (193)
616531 2007-11-29 19:25:00 your graphics card is a bit hot i'd say does it have a fan ? if not install one.....and take a look at air flow thru/around your case.....maybe that can be improved..... drcspy (146)
616532 2007-11-29 19:41:00 The card doesnt have a fan but I was hesitant to put one on it because I didnt want to affect the airflow with the other sensors. I read in one incident that the exhaust from his video card was causing a sensor to read very hot.

The abreviation associated with the 57 degrees is "SYS" can someone tell me what exactly SYS is and if the recommended temp of this is a known thing. I want to be sure I'm not hurting anything. The temp monitoring programs I use both show "flame" icons near SYS, which is the worst it gets apparently.

616533 2007-11-30 04:49:00 73 degrees is generally alright for a graphics card. I you want it cooler grab a copy of RivaTuner (google it) and set the fan to run at 100% (or anything above 60%) and you should hopefully see a drop in temperature.

If the CPU seems to be running too hot then get an after-market heatsink/fan combo. The best one of these is the Thermalright Ultra 120 or the Noctua NH-U9.

How man intake/exhaust fans do you have? The problem might be as simple as having to add another one or ensuring your case is in a well ventilated area.
