| 616021 | 2007-11-28 19:34:00 | Hi everyone! At home i have a DWL-G700AP on my network that i use with my laptop. It's been working fine for the past year, when other people bring their laptops around they can connect to it fine, but a sudden problem arose when my girlfriend purchased a new laptop with Windows Vista on it, it can see the wireless network and you can click on it and press connect but after you press connect almost instantly it says that there is a problem and it can't connect to the wireless (I can't remember the specific error but it was one of those vista generic ones i think). All previous people that have connected to my DWL-G700AP have been running windows XP. I did a google search and gathered the fact that apparently windows vista has problems connecting to a number of different wireless access points, so i took my girlfriends vista laptop to my mates place who has a Dlink AP but different model to mine and it connected fine! I have yet to try and connect a vista laptop that isn't my gfnds to my AP at home but I think this is ridiculous, would it be a problem with vista or a problem with my wireless access point? How may i go about fixing the problem? Regards, James |

| 616022 | 2007-11-28 19:38:00 | Oh sorry i forgot to ask one more thing, my girlfriend wants to get a wireless access point at her place so she can use the internet on her laptop down stairs and was wondering if anyone knows of an AP that definitely works with windows Vista that they could recommend? The one at my friends house that i tested it on was an adsl+wirelessAP so i don't really want to get one because she has satellite internet (lives in the sticks). I'm looking for a wireless access point with more than one Ethernet port and definitely works with vista. Many thanks |

| 616024 | 2007-12-04 20:42:00 | I got one of these (www.dse.co.nz) after I to had problems connecting to my dlink wireless AP when I got a vista laptop earlier this year. It works wonderfully for me and was a breeze to setup. It also has 4 additional ethernet ports on the back. | stormdragon (6013) | ||
