615816 2007-11-28 05:34:00 I have a couple of tracks (mp3) that I would like to convert so they can be played on a cd player (not computer). What format do/should I convert these to play successfully? I am using MediaCoder, or I could use Audacity. Or is there a better (and free) option?

As always - TIA
R.M. :)

615817 2007-11-28 05:37:00 Most CD players will play MP3 - it is a mainstream codec. winmacguy (3367)
615818 2007-11-28 05:39:00 Yes, but my friend says the mp3 files won't play on her player....:( R.M. (561)
615819 2007-11-28 05:44:00 That must be in the 1% of crappy CD players that won't recognize MP3 then. MediaCoder should be ok but most people would suggest converting it to MP3 anyway since that is the most recognizable codec - apart from wma or aac which is better and becoming more common. winmacguy (3367)

615825 2007-11-28 11:18:00 If you're talking about a stereo cd player, it has to be MP3 compatible, to play MP3's.

Nero can do MP3 CD's and would burn the MP3/'s as is. If the CD supported MP3's.

BUT, not all stereo cd players can play MP3's.

Or it has to be in CDA format.

Nero will convert MP3 to Audio CD format. If you select the audio cd option.

You'll get 17, maybe 20 on the CD, depending on the size of the MP3's.

As R.M said NOT computer. So, it sounds like its a stereo or standalone C.D
