| 615606 | 2007-11-27 06:49:00 | Hi my Pentium 4 seems to run at 46-47c is this normal the fan does not run that much so figured it must be ok. Today the fan started working excessively so I pulled the case open and removed a good handful of fluff from the fins of the heatsink. Result fan is back to normal and I can hear myself think again, just thought I would post this to remind people about cleaning the dust occasionally. |

| 615608 | 2007-11-27 06:57:00 | Well fluff and dust doesnt help it . . But 47-48 wont hurt it . It would shut the system down if it got too high . I usually clean these out every few weeks . If I can see a lot of dust on the heatsink, I pull it to bits . And vacuum the heatsink, and the inside of the case . |
