617639 2007-12-03 22:58:00 Hi, I just wanted to clarify something regarding cases.
This case here, you can clearly see the slots where cd/dvd drives go.

But this case, you cannot.

What I want to know is if cases like the 2nd one I've shown contain slots for cd/dvd drives? If so, how can I tell how many cd/dvd drives it can hold?
-Exposed 5¼ bays
-Hidden 5¼ bays
-Exposed 3½ bays
-Hidden 3½ bays
These are the specs shown I think, which one refer's to dvd/cd drive?

Thanks

617640 2007-12-03 23:02:00 It certainly has them, they are just behind a door of some description.

It will be the exposed 5 1/4 inch bays. That PC has 4 of them.

617641 2007-12-03 23:10:00 Ah, ok. Thank you very much for clarifying that :)

Also, I assume Mid-Tower cases will be sufficient for a high end desktop? Is that correct? Or would a Full tower be better?
I am looking to purchase one which is spacious, can hold roughly atx motherboard, 4 hard drives, 2 dvd drives, 4 sticks of ram, 2 graphics card (8800 series or higher)because apparently they're larger than other cards...., psu and maybe some extra cpu cooling or a water cooling system.
p.s. i'm not buying all of this, just an example because i plan to purchase one that has enough space for future upgrades.

Thanks

617642 2007-12-03 23:11:00 5¼ bays are for CD/DVD drives. There are no special bays where CD/DVD drives take residence in. 3½ bays are usually for floppy drives or some fan controllers and memory card readers.

I have a 'door' case. I like it, as my dog LOVES to lie in front of the computer and had twice 'accidentally' pushed the restart button.....once when I was writing a school project, and once when my dad was playing Solitaire. Now that the buttons are behind a door, the dog can't touch them!!

617643 2007-12-03 23:33:00 IMHO if those are the specs you are looking at go full tower, I made the mistake of getting a mid tower and am not really happy, there is VERY little room to move inside... And with that amount of HDDs and GFX cards the inside will get warm, so I suggest a full tower. The_End_Of_Reality (334)
617644 2007-12-04 03:55:00 Most standard PC uses the mid or midi tower, the small on you are talking about would be 'mini' tower

full towers are much taller and overkill for most computers, even most gaming ones, usually kept for servers and the likes

617645 2007-12-04 03:58:00 I have a full tower case, anything smaller, if you go putting large GFX cards into it, will get horribly tight and very hot. wratterus (105)
